The Outrageous 19th
MONTHLY TIPS
PRACTICE AT HOME
None of us can be complacent about our performance, even the greats of the society such as Ivor Bigun, Fila MacOkie, Pat MacLitorus and Scarlet Beaver have to constantly bang away for hours a day. This relentless honing is the only way to keep one up, while being aware who is trying to come behind you. Follow this easy guide to help you strengthen your wrist action.
1. Practice in front of a mirror.
2. Grip the shaft lightly at first, then with a firm yet comfortable grasp.
3. Look at your hands on the shaft, everything O.K.?.....you're ready to
4. Move the shaft slowly back and forwards, feel the weight of the head swinging and build up the speed to a full stroke with a rhythmic action that will become fluid.
5. Stop when it becomes sore.
6. However good the practice, the real thing is always better.
EXERCISE
ARE YOU GETTING ENOUGH
As the years roll on and gravity takes a hold, every thing seems to drift south, diets can help, but nothing works like good old fashioned exercise. If you are regularly sinking eighteen holes a week, it may not be wise to over do it. On the other hand if you can't manage nine a month, we have devised a few tips to get you in the rudest of health.
1. Press ups are a good start to a healthier way of life. Begin by lifting your body about six inches off the ground and then gently lower your self down. Repeat and gradually quicken the action until you are satisfied, at this point you may feel a little quivery in the extremities - this is normal. Do not attempt this exercise alone.
2. Weights are another good way to firm up your soft flabby organs. A good regular work out will mean you are soon pumping iron.
3. You can't beat outdoor pursuits when it comes to getting fit, take a leaf out of the Scots book and try your hand at tossing a tall pole up and down a field. Alternatively you might try bouncing a small cheque.
